Finally... The last movie: A Beautiful Mind.

I'm glad to write this comment, because is about the last movie of this semester.

A Beautiful mind, is a beautiful movie about a man who wanted to be a genius, but the obssesion with this idea provoke him to develop Shizophrenia, a mental disease that tranformed his life forever.

In my personal opinion, this was an interesting movie. The story was developed in United States. The main character called John Nash was a mathematician who work in a university.

The plot of the movie started when he wanted to be recognised as a genius, so he started doing many things, but finally the obssession and the strong wish made him to think in the wrong way.

An important part of this movie is when the protagonist started seeing allucinations, in relation to a possible attack. This demonstrated that his mental disease was really advanced.

On the other hand, the thing is: the problem that appears when the obssession starts to control your body, mind and everything you do everyday, this is the thing that called my attention.

It was a really good movie, I liked it.

Daniela Rojas' microlesson.

Now is Daniela's turn. Her topic was Language Learning Strategies.

In relation to the presentation, she had a complete powerpoint, the information was clearly explained, and her tone of voice was very good. She knew very well how to call our attention.

Finally in this point, the topic was relevant for education, specifically for teachers who have to deal with different kinds of students every day.

Personally speaking, this topic is really important for us as teachers. Because we have to know this kind of contents in order to identify our students' needs and also the methodologies that we have to use in the classroom. Finally, this presentation was very informative, useful and neccessary for our future role.

The influence of Rock music in the classroom.

Good morning¡

Today I'm going to present my comment about Nicolás' microteaching.

First of all, I have to say that this topic is new in the area of education, but at the same time it was a good idea: a relationship between music and education.

In relation to the presentation, Nicolás presented a nice powerpoint, also he showed us music, lyrics and pictures, so we were really busy triyng to listen music, and knowing something about the different kinds of guitars that exist.

In my personal opinion, this presentation was good, a nice one, the microteaching was organised and with a topic that could be relevant for education. Music is definitely a good way in which students can learn, because classes would be interctive and with a different methodology, learners would be motivated and finally, they would obtain a meaningful learning.

Information Technology Microteaching.

Hello, today is Marlene's turn.

First of all, this presentation was really relevant to education, because we could know information about innovations and important topics in relation to the same idea. Also, She provided us information from the internet, and this was good.Although this, she had some problems with the internet sometimes. But Marlene knew how to take advantage of this situation. Finally in this point, the powerpoint was very clear and with useful pictures.

In my personal opinion, I think that the weakness in this presentation was too much TTT, and Students' participation was missed. Maybe she has to pay more attention in microteachings and not in presentations or lectures. For me, this was the major problem.

IN GENERAL TERMS IT WAS A GOOD JOB.

Leandro's microlesson.

Now we have in second place: Social networks.

This presentation was about the different social networks we can find in internet. Also, the way in which we can use them, and the pros and cons of its use.This microlesson was complete and clear, with a lot of pictures and good explanations, Leandro knew exactly what point he had to analyse and what important information he had to explain.The discussion at the end of the presentation was also interesting because we could debate our opinions based on the use of social networks in education.

In my personal opinion, this was an excellent presentation, I liked very much, because the topic was relevant, known and important if we consider these different kinds of programs in education.

Definitely Leandro you did a good job.

Renato Ramirez's microlesson.

Healthy food and academic performance: Very interesting and relevant topic, taking into account that society has serious problems with fast food and all that things.This presentation was organised and colourful, the powerpoint was clear and well prepared, the topic was well explained and also, the activity was excellent. Renato wanted to know if we were paying attention through questions about the same topic, just like a reading comprehension exercise.

In my opinion, this topic was meaningful for me, because I'm living with a healthy lifestyle, and I know this is not easy, but if we think in our health we have to do it.

This topic is also relevant in education, we have to teach different kinds of students, and I'm sure that in the future I'm going to be worried about my students because the consequences of a bad diet and a sedentary lifestyle can be a complete disaster.

Chariots of fire's movie comment.

Here we have another movie in this second semester.

Chariots of fire is a movie about two athletes, who were looking for fame. In this situation both of them participated in the olympics, just one of them could win the gold medal, and the other one could win the honour of a hero, based on the different situations they have to dealt with in the movie. According to the key points: the language of the movie was British english. The powerful idea of the movie was this wish to obtain fame just running in the olympic games in 1924. Also, another powerful idea is the power that the characters put to achieve their goals, they were capable to give everything just to obtain what they wanted. In relation to the context, the country of the movie was United kingdom. The main characters were Harold Abrahams and Eric Liddell. The values and emotions expressed in this movie were: motivation, courage, friendship, power among others.

Finally, in my personal comment, I could say that this movie is not one of my favourite ones, but it showed many interesting things about the attitude any person has to have in order to achieve their goals. This was the only point that called my attention. In general terms, is an excellent idea to watch these kind of movies because these situations can showed us that if we want, we can.

And just like the commercial: impossible is nothing¡

WHAT IS THE OCTOBER STRIKE ABOUT?

Now, the analysis of a relevant and worrying topic.

In answer to the first question: this strike is for two main reasons. First, the historical debt and second, the payment of the SAE bond. Teachers want to recover that money and obtain what they deserve.

In relation to the second question: IS IT FAIR?, I can say that this strike is totally fair, because teachers are just fighting for their rights, and what they are asking for is just what they want to receive for the role and the work they made with students.

The answer for the third question; IS IT ETHICAL? is really I don't know, because is fair if teachers want to fight for their rigths, but at the same time students are without classes, spending time in their houses doing nothing, and losing what they have to learn. Most important in this period in which the end of the year is near.

Finally, the last question IS IT LEGITIMATE? , yes. It is legitimate because of the characteristics of the problem and the topic of the money that is something unsolved yet.

Fernanda's microlesson.

A new comment: Attention - deficit disorder.

This presentation had a relevant topic, important for us as teachers in the future. Also really organised with an introduction, definitions and characteristics. Fernanda was very clear in her explanations, and also she was aware of our doubts and questions all the time. Although this, she also has to be careful with TTT, because in this presentation was more expressed than in the first one.

In my opinion, the topic was useful, because we have to pay attention to these kind of problems in our classrooms.Is very important to know about it, in order to help students in the future.

Juan Manuel's microlesson.

In this opportunity, I'm going to give my opinion about the microlesson of my personal friend Juan Manuel. The topic was : Video games, an entertaining way to learn.

This presentation was very organised; introduction, body, pictures and conclusions. Also, the explanations were very clear and concise. On the other hand, Juan manuel knew very well how to involve us in his microlesson, and it was really interesting. In contrast to this idea, the only thing I have to say about this is that Juan Manuel has to be careful with TTT because sometimes it was the base of his microlesson.

In my personal opinion, videogames are part of the life of many people, and an entertaining way with which they can spend time. In education, this could be applied, but I wouldn't use it, because it could cause a disorder in my class. I think video games are activities of free time.

What does TWITTER offer for Education in Chile?

I think that today we have many innovative ways in which we can teach English.

One of this ways in my personal opinion it can be Twitter.

This program is based on written communication, for this reason students can improve their writing and communicative skills with Twitter.

This was the main point of my comment.

On the other hand, Twitter offer a good and interactive way in which students and teachers can communicate with each other and talk about different and relevant topics of education or society.

Finally, students can develop the ability to create ideas and discuss giving their opinions, and at the same time, contrast these opinions with other ideas.

Twitter can be an useful tool for education. We only have to know how to use it in a good way.

GALLIPOLLI MOVIE.

This movie was about the famous war of Gallipolli ;between British and Turkish troops. In this context , there were two soldiers and friends; who had to go to fight in this war. The language of the movie is a kind of British English and also, it was showed Turkish language. The powerful ideas and expressions of the movie are mainly based on the environment of a war, and the beautiful friendship expressed throughout the movie. On the other hand, the historical context of the movie was in 1914 during the war previously mentioned and also during the context of the World War I. The main characters of the movie are Archy and Frank who were soldiers and also friends. Finally in my comment, the values and emotions that I could watched in the movie were: Friendship, courage and the feeling of adventure.

Now, in my personal opinion this movie was beautiful because of the topic of real friendship. For me, friendship is a very important topic, for this reason what I could watch in the movie is something that is not strange and boring for me. Also, I could know information about this gallipolli war, that for me was completely unknown until now.

Finally, it was a really good and meaningful movie, with a lot of relevant topics and things that I would analyse during a long time.

About Education 2020.

Again here audience.
In this opportunity I want to give my opinion about the website Education 2020, because I was exploring this page, and I have some things to say about it.

First of all, I think that is useful and neccesary to have this kind of connections in terms of education; This is, a place in which teachers, administratives, students and people in general can express and give different opinions about relevant and important topics for this area.
Second, the page also shows news and information about innovations in teaching and education. And this is really good because people have to be always noticed about what is happening with education in our country.

Finally, I really like the entushiasm with which teachers and other people participate in this project, every day more people is added to this dream: the dream of a fair, complete and meaningful education.

Paty's microlesson.

Here I am again with my opinion about Paty's presentation.
This microlesson called my attention, because the topic was meaningful for me.
In my practice, I have a lot of students; teenagers with different styles, behaviours and beliefs.
For this reason, Paty was precise with her topic: Young teachers and urban tribes.
She prepared a powerpoint with interesting pictures and she was explaining very well the topic while we were paying attention.

In my personal opinion, this presentation showed a relevant topic, certain aspects that we as teachers have to take into account, when we are in the classroom.

During this week, we only could see Melissa's microlesson.
She did a good job, she prepared a topic that is relevant and important in education. Also, she knew very well how to involved us during her presentation.

Maybe the only thing I have to say about her is that she must be careful with time.

But in general terms for me, it was an excellent presentation.

My presentation.

This day was very special because I had to present my topic, this was about The Interactive Whiteboard, an innovation in teaching that is growing every day.
I think that I did a good job, I prepared an organised presentation with all the elements a microlesson needed. Also, I worked with listening and I made my classmates participate with me.

Finally, I think the most important point of my presentation was that I respected the time. On the other hand, although the data was not working in a good way, I could made my presentation and I achieved to show my topic.


I made a good work and I am happy for that.

Loreto's microlesson.

Without any doubt, Loreto was very creative. Anime is not something that we can see every day. It is definitely a new topic that can be applied perfectly well in classrooms.

On the other hand, the presentation was organized, with a lot of videos and memories that came to my mind when I remember anime programs like; Sailor moon or Caballeros del zodiaco.

Francisco and Mary's microlessons.

Hello again:
I am going to start with Francisco and his relevant topic. Nowadays Teachers and travel abroad are good friends, we can travel if we want to improve our English language or if we want to obtain better opportunities to work in a good place. The presentation in general terms, was really good, complete and with a lot of information to us. He just have to check some details, but definitely he is really good.

Now, about Maria Paz, she is my friend, but apart from this I am going to make an objective comment.
Her presentation for me was relaxing, because music achieves this feeling in people, in general terms a nice presentation. The only thing that she has to be aware is about technology, because in the presentation she bought a video to us, and this element didn't work, I don't know why, but the only thing I know is that this situation was not her fault.

Second turn of microlessons.

I was noticed that Renato and Denisse presented their microlessons this tuesday, but I had a problem.
I couldn't come to this class, because I was terribly ill, so it was impossible for me, be present.

For this reason, I don't have comments about these two presentations.

Pia's microlesson.

Definitely, pia has a great ability to make interesting topics and complete presentations.
Radiodrama is something unknown and absolutely new for me, it is interesting to learn about this, and also this topic is an useful tool for english teaching in the future.

Billy Elliot's comment.

Hello again.
I'm going to make my comment about the first movie I watched this second semester.
Billy elliot is a movie about a boy who wants to be a ballet dancer. He discovered this interest after watching some ballet classes, and then he realised he could dance very well. The problem here was his family, his father and brother were against this idea because they thought ballet was not for boys. So, Billy had to fight against all these ideas and the movie showed all the process since billy discovered his talent until he finally achieved dancing in a theatre with the support of his family and teacher, who was the only support at the beggining.

I personally think this movie was very creative because the topic about a man dancing ballet is absolutely new. It is interesting that Billy struggles against all the discrimination he suffered only because he wants to achieve his dream, this is a kind of example for all people who want to be or to do something, but they don't because they are worried all the time for other people's opinions. Each person has to do always what he or she likes, no matter what other people can say. In the movie Billy taught us this important idea.

Hello everyone: just me again after my relaxing winter holidays.

New semester, new blog.

My blog is updated because a new semester has started, a semester with a lot of challenges and also with a lot of opportunities to learn how to improve my writing skills here.

You will find comments about different things; movies, topics in relation to education and life in general terms. The only difference is that my comments will be better, with content, coherence, a good English, and with deep ideas in order to get a good mark at the end of the year, and also because I want to learn in a good way everyday.
